CV: Professor of theatre history and theory in the School of English, in the Graduate School of the Theatre Department of Aristotle University and the Drama School of the State Theatre of Northern Greece. He is the author of eight books on drama criticism/theory and co-editor of another eight. He has published numerous articles in Greece and abroad, most of them focusing on theatre theory and history. In addition to his academic activities, he also works as a theatre reviewer for the daily newspaper Aggelioforos. For three years (2008-11) he was a regular theatre commentator for the newspaper Eleftherotypia. He is a member (and for two years vice president) of ITI (International Theatre Institute, Atrhens), of the Hellenic Association of Theatre Critics, of the editorial board of Critical Stages (the ejournal of the International Association of Theatre Critics), member of the City of Thessaloniki theatre board and president of the committee for the best play-translation prize. His books Theatre and Globalization and Readings and Misreadings of Ancient Greek Drama in the United States are both scheduled for publication in 2012 and 2013 respectively. University Studio Press will be publishing his theatre commentaries for the newspaper Eleftherotypia in 2012 and the second volume of his theatre reviews in 2013 (the first volume was published in 2006). His two-volume study Theatre, Society, Nation: From America to the United States (Thessaloniki: University Studio Press, 2010), was awarded first prize by the Hellenic Association of Theatre Critics for best theatre study of the year.
