Eugenia Somara
She was born in Crete in 1974. She studied in the Department of Theatre Studies of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. In the same department she completed her post graduate studies (M. Phil). Also she studied acting (Dramatic School of «Diomidi Fotiadi») and music (Greek Conservatory).
She has been teaching Creative drama in primary and secondary education since 1999. She has collaborated as a theatre researcher with the National TV Channel (ERT) at the programme «Theatroplixia», she has translated, edited many theatrical texts, and she is a member of the editorial team of the theatre magazine FOUAGIE and the literary magazine OMBRELA.
She has been a member of Administrate Council of Panhellenic Theatrologists Association since 1999 and she was President of the Board from 2001 to 2005.
She is a member of Young Practitioners Committee of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) while her article on the theatre in Greece was publicized in the annual edition of International Institute Theatre World of Theatre (2005) of the ITI.
She has been working at the Hellenic Centre of International Theatre as Executive Secretary & Project Manager since 2000.
