CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The International Summer Institute for Ancient Greek Drama and Theatre in co-operation with the Cultural Identity and Development Committee of the International Theatre Institute is organizing, like every year, the summer events on ancient Greek drama.

This year we are extending the course to six weeks, instead of three, into two optional periods ( 30 June-20 July and 21 July-10 August), so as to facilitate the participation of two different groups of teachers  and to combine the Professional Session with a workshop on CYCLOPS by Euripides.

Mrs Katerina Pavlaki , dancer, teacher and choreographer, is the organizer and director of this dance event which has become a reference point for many dancers.
The continuously increasing participation and the higher level of the participants every year, is the great accomplishment of the competition. The
competition aims to the unification of Professional and Amateur dancers from all over the world, through a contest of talent and technique, in Classical
Ballet, Modern dance, Character, Jazz and Ethnic , in order to exchange ideas and experiences. By offering awards and scholarships to the
distinguished dancers gives them motives for a professional career. The competition offers to dancers the best possible reward and recognition.

The 4th International Festival of Making Theater,

During a whole week of creative interaction, Theater Makers from all over the world will have the opportunity to share and get acquainted with new working methods and ideas, regarding the following three sectors: Acting, Movement and Voice.

In.F.o.Ma.T.’s preparation plan will be completed in two phases:
• The first phase - completed by March 31st 2008 - regards the INVITATION for TEACHERS. Teachers are considered all acting, movement and voice teachers. Their response will finalise the festival’s syllabus which will be announced no later than April 30th 2008. 

• The second phase - which will be completed by June 30th 2008 - regards the INVITATION for PARTICIPANTS. Participants are considered all those interested in attending the festival’s workshops.
English will be the official language of the festival.

INVITATION for TEACHERS

Theater of Changes invites acting, movement and voice teachers to take part in the 4th International Festival of Making Theater (In.F.o.Ma.T.) which will be held July 6th – 13th 2008, at the Theater of Changes, 19a 3is Septemvriou str, 104 32, Athens, Greece.
Priority will be given to those teachers whose method is a novelty within the framework of teaching methods in acting, movement and voice.
The selected teachers will have the opportunity to present their work three times to a different group of participants each time, over a three-hour workshop. Furthermore, teachers - in their turn - will be able to witness and keep themselves updated with other teachers' methods and working techniques.

The selection will be completed in three phases:

a) All teachers should express their interest by sending an 
 email at [email protected] with all the necessary information (short CV, workshop
 description, max 50 words). 

b) Agreeing with the terms and conditions that will be emailed
 as a preapproval, teachers should send the official 
 Application Form no later than February 29th 2008.
c) Having sent the official Application Form, the selected
 teachers will receive the final approval of their participation at
 the Festival.

No final approvals will be made after March 31st.

ATTENTION!!!
Do not send the Application Form if you have not completely understood and accepted the terms and condition of the Festival.

A new full-length performance piece by Andrew McKinnon combining live actors and musicians with complex projected images and an eclectic sound track.  The performance draft of the script (commissioned with funding from the Scottish Arts Council) is now ready and it will be workshopped in spring 2007 with a view to production in 2008.

Launch open day at Costa Urbana.- A mixed media interactive installation focusing on the expression of a kiss, a kiss for peace! The Kiss Project is Christos' idea of involving diverse cultural systems through a documented and concurrently projected partly-directed, partly-improvised, participatory performance.
The audience is asked to demonstrate a kiss to the camera, giving a few seconds of performance.
Anything can be a legitimate target of that kiss.
