This is Theatre Lab Company’s third festival of Greek theatre following their last very successful play reading festival at Soho Theatre in 2009. The company presents six new monologues  and a short novel by some of Greece’s inspiring contemporary writers. The plays will be presented in English.

16.00: SOTIRIA’S ARMY by Antonis and Konstantinos Koufalis
Directed by Menelaos Karantzas, performed by Avita Jay
Sotiria has lived a long and troubled life immigrating from Asia Minor to Greece. Going to the Pharmasist to check her blood pressure, wakes up all the memories in her heart.
17.00:  WILD BEATS by Nina Rapi
Directed by  Tom Crowley, performed by Ryan Lane
A sculptor, a guard, and an understudy in a strange prison - who is the captive and who the captor? What is the noise inside their mind?
18.30: NINTH WEDDING by Leia Vitali

Directed by Andrew Bridgmont, performed by Claire Porter
Claire Zachanassian, Durrenmatt’s heroine, has now succeeded  in her revenge: Alfred, her lover that betrayed her 40 years ago, is now dead. In this room. In this coffin. They are finally alone.

A man locked at home, shut in his refusal and soul-quest. The dwarf-woman is his companion on his journey through memory until absolute nudity reveals his identity.

Starting off from the ground to get to the top floor is the usual expression for building up one’s human personality. Unless you are already a man and decide you want to turn into something more useful.
18.00: THE WOMAN OF PATRAS by George Chronas

Panoraia has enjoyed her life as a prostitute and as a mistress. The clock for retirement is ticking. So grab a chair and listen to her secrets.
19.15: THE SEVENTH GARMENT by Eugenia Fakinou

Directed by Polis Loizou, performed by Jessica Sian
Roula travels from Athens to a remote village to meet her Grand-mother and fulfill a promise. Death, myth and tradition will scratch the roots of the ancient tree and reveal the deepest and cruelest secrets.
